Partners Group
Founded in 2001, Financial Partners Group Co., Ltd. (FPG) is a Tokyo-headquartered financial services and investment management group listed on the Prime Market of the Tokyo Stock Exchange. The company is one of the largest arrangers of Japanese operating lease investment products across aviation, as well as maritime shipping vessels and marine transport containers.

Hisanaga Tanimura
Non-Executive Director
Mr. Tanimura joined the Board in 2015. He founded FPG in November 2001. He has over 20 years’ experience in arranging Japanese tax leases. Prior to establishing FPG, Mr. Tanimura served as the representative of ING Lease Japan N.V. Tokyo Branch and held several roles in Sumisho Lease Company, Ltd. (now Sumitomo Mitsui Finance & Leasing Company, Ltd.).
Osamu Kurata
Non-Executive Director
Mr. Kurata was appointed to the Board of Directors in 2017. He is an executive officer of FPG, responsible for the company’s Structured Finance Group. Prior to joining FPG, he gained extensive experience arranging a range of structured finance transactions and managing overseas financial subsidiaries, including serving as Managing Director of Sumitomo Trust and Banking Co., Ltd.’s Hong Kong subsidiary (now Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank, Ltd.).
Marcus Jung
Non-Executive Director
Mr. Jung has served as a Director of FPG Amentum since 2015. He founded FPG AIM in 2012 and previously served as a Non-Executive Director of FPG until 2015. Mr. Jung is also a part-time lecturer at Erasmus University Rotterdam. He has more than 30 years’ experience in structured asset finance, including over 10 years with ING across its global offices in Amsterdam, Dublin, Singapore and Tokyo, and five years with DVB Bank in Rotterdam.
Pat O'Brien
Non-Executive Director
Mr. O’Brien first joined the Board in 2012. He has a wealth of experience over a 30-year career at KPMG, including 24 years as a partner. During that time, he was a leading tax adviser to the Irish and international aircraft leasing and financing sectors, before retiring in 2011.
Jan Melgaard
Executive Chairman
Jan Melgaard is the Executive Chairman of FPG Amentum and has more than 30 years’ experience across commercial aviation financing, leasing and investment. Prior to joining FPG Amentum in 2010, Jan was CEO of Nordic Aviation Capital and President & CEO of Volito Aviation, a joint venture with Goldman Sachs. Jan holds an MBA from Columbia University in New York.
Rupert Leggett
Chief Executive Officer
Rupert Leggett was appointed Chief Executive Officer of FPG Amentum in July 2022. He joined the company in 2018 and previously served as Chief Commercial Officer. Rupert has more than 15 years’ experience in aircraft finance and leasing, having held senior roles at companies including Plane Business and Aergo Capital. Earlier in his career, he worked in private equity focused on the transportation and aviation sectors. Rupert is a graduate of Manchester Metropolitan University.
Mitchel Simpson
Chief Financial Officer
Mitchel Simpson was appointed Chief Financial Officer at FPG Amentum in April 2006. Mitchel brings over 20 years’ experience in the aviation and leasing industries. Since joining the company, he has overseen its transition from captive lessor to full-service third-party lease manager. Prior to FPG Amentum, Mitchel worked in De Lage Landen (part of the Rabobank Group) in a number of roles, including Head of Structured Asset Finance, with responsibility for leasing, product development and debt syndication. Mitchel has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from University College Dublin and is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland.
